Principals, Maureen and C.A. Miller, believe their company incorporates diverse family talent toward a central goal: creating excellence in home environments for their clients.

Maureen Miller, the building design and interior talent of the company, has created numerous award-winning designs and is the current recipient of the 1998 American Society of Interior Design Awards for the
States of Louisiana, Mississippi, and
Arkansas. She has received A.S.I.D.'s Gold
Award and two Silver Awards this year,
one of which is her interior design project in
Austin, TX at River Place's "The Overlook." Maureen's residential building and interior design work has been published in seven issues of the renowned Southern Living Magazine, an honor bespeaking her versatile creative vision and timeless appeal. A self-taught designer, she is a NCIDQ certified Interior Designer, state licensed in Texas and Louisiana, a Professional Building Designer, and a Licensed Residential Contractor.

C.A. Miller, a Louisiana attorney and Tulane Law graduate, serves as business manager and spearheads all project development. Early on, C.A. oversaw construction as general contractor of Miller Manor Homes, which was first incorporated in Louisiana. Maureen says he has a keen eye for detail, both in the business and on the project site. C.A. is an avid sailor, having sailed the Caribbean Islands for the past 25 years. He is on the National Board of the United States Power Squadrons.



Having lived abroad in Austria, England, and Greece, Maureen and C.A. believe the exposure to European history, art and architecture continues to be an endless source of aesthetic and technical inspiration. Intent on constantly increasing their knowledge base, this team recently completed a study course in Italy of Palladian Villas in the Veneto and Tuscany regions. "An awesome way to experience classical detail and art, on site," says C.A. A trip to Paris to study private French interiors is set for this summer.

Diversity of style and influence, be it the detailed borders on an Italian fresco or the clay-tiled roof atop a Virgin Islands cliff-side home, has been a signature of Miller Manor Homes since its inception.

Maureen received an A.S.I.D. Gold Award for her design of a sprawling, three-story Caribbean style home intertwined with a beautifully landscaped courtyard, which also appeared in several issues of Southern Living Magazine. They have spent many trips to the Caribbean Islands pursuing
extensive study and
research in the
Caribbean style. As it
mixes so readily with Spanish mission, French colonial, and southern plantation influences in New Orleans, it has become a strong characteristic in coastal building design and interiors, and is important in Miller Manor Homes' overall body of work.
A.S.I.D. also awarded Maureen the Gold Award for Model Home Development this year for "The Courtyard at St. Anthony Place," an upscale residential development of country French-styled courtyard homes in Louisiana. With such a broad range of cultural design studies, Miller Manor Homes offers its clients the expertise to create a home environment which perfectly suits their lifestyle, as well as their aesthetic sensibility.

Maureen has had the privilege of working under the eminent Louisiana Architect A. Hays Town, the recipient of the "Louisiana Legend Award" for excellence in architecture, established by the State of Louisiana and awarded annually on the PBS Channel. In his nineties now, his total project emersion approach to design, taking a project from building design through construction to interiors, has become the model for Miller Manor Homes, Inc.

"It's exciting to see our clients reap the benefits of our experience. Their is no doubt in their minds we know how to follow through, with dynamic results. The real testament to this is that many of our clients come back to us again and again, recommend us to close friends and other family members looking to build homes, even have us design and build second homes for them in other states," says Maureen.
